Homework Mode

Homework time, without the tug-of-war.

A scheduled routine that blocks distracting apps and websites during homework hours on the supervised Android device — and hands them back when study time ends.

Runs on a schedule

Set homework hours once and the routine applies automatically every school day — no daily reminders, no renegotiating.

Distractions out, tools in

Games, short video, and social apps are blocked while learning apps, the calculator, calling, and maps stay available.

Exceptions in a tap

Need a blocked app for an assignment? The supervised user sends an access request and you approve or deny it from StudyLumen Parent.

Homework Mode, answered

What does Homework Mode block?

Whatever you choose. Supervisors typically block games, short-video, and social apps during homework hours, while keeping an allowed list of learning tools available. Website blocking can cover the same services' sites so a browser doesn't become the workaround.

What if homework needs a blocked app or website?

The supervised user requests temporary access right from the block screen. The supervisor approves or denies it from StudyLumen Parent, and the answer shows up where they asked.

Does it need internet to keep working?

No. Enforcement runs on the supervised device, so the routine keeps applying offline. A connection is needed for rule updates and access requests.

How is this different from generic screen-time limits?

Daily time limits cap total usage; Homework Mode protects a specific block of time. The two solve different problems — StudyLumen is built around the moments that matter: homework, bedtime, and exams. See all routines on the homepage or start with the setup guide.
